Details

Ailie L. Silbert founded Ailie L. Silbert Family Law and Mediation, a boutique matrimonial law firm in 2012 to amicably resolve the legal issues faced by New York families. She has a decade of legal experience and is licensed to practice in New York as well as New Jersey. She assists with divorce including same-sex divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, property distribution, spousal maintenance, child custody, child support, and the preparation of divorce and separation agreements.

Ms. Silbert has experience working alongside some of New York City's premier divorce litigators, aiding in litigating and settling tumultuous, high-net-worth divorces. She managed everything from settlement discussions to court hearings, investigative evaluations and post-judgment motions in New York City, Westchester and Long Island. After seeing the harm that the usual adversarial system causes to families and children, she decided to guide clients and families to overcome this damage along a much more favorable trajectory.

A cum laude graduate of Cornell University – College of Arts and Sciences, Ms. Silbert completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1996. She graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2002 from the Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a dean scholar and a member of the Moot Court Team. She interned for the Hon. William G. Bassler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and served as a judicial law clerk and mediator for the Hon. Ira E. Kreizman at the New Jersey Superior Court.

Ms. Silbert has been granted a Family and Divorce Mediation Post-Graduate Certificate accredited by the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and the New Jersey Law Clerk Mediation Qualification. She was the president of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York and was chosen for the inaugural New York County Supreme Court list of Matrimonial Mediators. Additionally, she has a spot on the Nassau County Matrimonial Mediation Panel and used to be part of the Queens Supreme Matrimonial Roster.

Active in her community, Ms. Silbert has affiliations with the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association and The Cornell Club New York.

A formidable professional, Ms. Silbert is noted for her tremendous attention to detail, perceptiveness and passionate dedication to individualized customer service.
