Alan S. Futerfas founded the Law Offices of Alan S. Futerfas in New York City in 1994 after gaining six years of experience as an assiciate then partner at a premier New York criminal defense firm. Mr. Futerfas graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1987 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1988. Today, with over 25 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Futerfas focuses on all areas of criminal defense as well as SEC investigations and regulatory defense. He regularly defends white-collar professionals including corporate officers, directors and hedge fund principals, often in highly charged investigative settings. The Firm also has an active appellate practice as Mr. Futerfas has argued dozens of criminal appeals and has argued successfully before the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Futerfas is admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New York Criminal Bar Association, the New York Council of Defense Lawyers, the Federal Bar Council and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Alan S. Futerfas has lecturered at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and at legal conferences and has taught trial advocacy at the Fordham University School of Law. He has chaired a Federal Securities Fraud Investigations seminar and served as a panelist on other seminars at the New York City Bar Association.
