Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Macurdy built an impressive career in public service across New Jersey's government levels. As senior counsel to the New Jersey Attorney General, he oversaw criminal justice policy and drafted guidelines for police departments. His tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney in New Jersey involved prosecuting various financial crimes, including securities fraud, Ponzi schemes and some of the earliest major cases involving fraud against COVID-19 relief programs.
Mr. Macurdy began his prosecutorial career at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, handling robbery, assault and misconduct cases. His legal journey started in Washington, D.C., as an antitrust litigation associate, followed by clerkships with Chief Judge Michael A. Chagares and Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum.
A Harvard Law School cum laude graduate, Mr. Macurdy edited the Harvard Law Review, and earned his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College as a Phi Beta Kappa member. He has contributed to legal education as faculty at Harvard Law School's Trial Advocacy Program and as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey courts, including federal district courts.
