Andrew T. Miltenberg

Renowned across the United States for his fierce dedication and advocacy for his clients for over 35 years, Andrew T. Miltenberg is a seasoned trial attorney, having argued appeals and litigated matters and arbitrations throughout the country.  Defending clients against defamation claims and accusations of academic dishonesty in colleges and universities, he has gained a national reputation for his work in high profile matters related to Title IX defense, advocating for clients who have either been accused of sexual misconduct or have been the victim of the same. A partner at Nesenoff & Miltenberg, LLP, in New York City, New York, he also concentrates hiss time in business litigation, partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, as well as employment discrimination and real estate litigation in New York. He is regularly called upon for expert opinion due to his experience and thought leadership in the area of Title IX and defamation and has lectured on these matters in Continuing Legal Education classes throughout the country. 

Mr. Miltenberg graduated with his B.A. degree from Emory University in 1987, and later attended the Brooklyn Law School and earned his Juris Doctor, marking the start of a prolific career of 35 years, with complex cases that have been dealt with swiftly and efficiently – keeping only the client’s best interests in mind. Licensed to practice in New York since 1991, he is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and has often handles cases in all federal jurisdictions and over 30 states. 

For his tireless efforts in creating a prominent, client-centric practice and his many contributions to the legal industry, Mr. Miltenberg has been acknowledged for the same by prestigious organizations, including being inducted as a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, receiving the appointment of Honorary Colonel  of the Alabama State Militia by Governor Robert Bentley and being recognized by NJBIZ in their 2022 edition of the New Jersey Power 50 list.

Within his legal community, Mr. Miltenberg is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York Women’s Bar Association, the Trial Law Institute and the Diversity Law Institute. At the New York County Lawyers Association, he serves on many important committees, including the Judicial Screening Committee, the Supreme Court Committee and the Federal Courts Committee. A zealous proponent of pro bono work, he is a board member of the Families Advocating for Campus Equality (FACE) and Town Hall NYC, a nonprofit performing arts center and historic landmark.
