Details
As a founder and member of Weitz & Luxenberg, PC, Arthur M. Luxenberg represents clients in New York City, New York, and across the country. He focuses his practice on handling personal injury law cases, including those that involve mesothelioma and exposure to asbestos.
In 1981, Mr. Luxenberg graduated with the highest honors and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He then attended the Yeshiva University Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, receiving a Juris Doctor in 1984.
Exposure to asbestos can have lifelong and deadly effects. Having seen firsthand the damage done by asbestos-related illnesses, Mr. Luxenberg is a fierce advocate for his clients. He treats every case as a top priority, giving clients personalized attention and his commitment to helping them receive compensation for their damages. An experienced trial attorney, Mr. Luxenberg is ready to battle through even the most complex cases.
In one of his largest successes, Mr. Luxenberg led an appellate case, the result of which was the court's affirmation that victims of asbestos exposure still could file a lawsuit after the statute of limitations had expired. He also represented passengers of the cruise ship Achille Lauro in their claims against the ship's owner after it was hijacked by terrorists. As a testament to these and other accomplishments, Mr. Luxenberg has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.
A published author, Mr. Luxenberg is a member of the American Association for Justice, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York County Lawyers' Association and Public Justice.
When he is not at his practice, Mr. Luxenberg serves as a chair for the North Shore Hebrew Academy High School and the United Soup Kitchens. He also supports a number of charitable organizations and causes, including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
