Bart J. Eagle

Since 1987, Bart J. Eagle's law practice has concentrated in commercial law and litigation.  Mr. Eagle represents clients in a wide variety of commercial transactions and disputes including those concerning commercial financing relationships; business acquisitions; shareholder and partnership relationships; license and distribution relationships; employment matters; contract actions; securities frauds actions; and insurance coverage disputes. Mr. Eagle represents clients in federal and state courts, before administrative tribunals, and in arbitration and mediation proceedings.  He is a member of the New York City Bar Association  (NYCBA) Council on Judicial Administration, which coordinates the activities of City Bar's state court committees and addresses broad-based issues affecting the New York court system, including judicial selection, court restructuring, and court operations and finances, the CJA's Efficiency Working Group and the Legal History Committee.  Mr. Eagle is the former Chair of the NYCBA State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction Committee, and is a member of the NYSBA Commercial and Federal Litigation Section.  

Mr. Eagle is a member of the NYCBA delegation to the NYSBA House of Delegates.

Mr. Eagle is also an experienced mediator.  He is on the panel of mediators of the United States District Court, Southern District of New York, the American Arbitration Association, the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, and the Co-Op and Condo Mediation Project of the New York City Bar Association.  Mr. Eagle is also an arbitrator, and is on the panel of arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Eagle is former Co-Chair of the NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section (DRS) Mediation Committee and a former member of the Executive Committee, a member of the DRS Arbitration, Mediation, Dispute Prevention and ADR in the Courts Committees, and a member of the DRS Chair Advisory Council.

Mr. Eagle serves on the United States District Court, Southern District of New York Mediation Advisory Committee.  

Mr. Eagle is a member of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Prevention (CPR) and CPR's Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Prevention Committees.

Prior to entering private practice in 1987, Mr. Eagle served for over six years as an assistant district attorney, where he prosecuted numerous cases involving serious crimes, including murder.  

Mr. Eagle is admitted to practice law in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, before the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as in the State of New York.
