Beixiao Robert Liu is the Managing Partner of the Balance Law Firm in New York, New York, and represents corporations and individuals in legal matters related to financial markets, banking, bankruptcy, employment and labor law, mergers and acquisitions, international economic and trade law, and aviation law, among many others. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he is also well-versed in handling business issues pertaining to capital markets, anti-money laundering, banking and financial regulations, as well as financial technology. After completing his undergraduate studies in finance from Tsinghua University, Mr. Liu was accepted into the Yale School of Management through the Silver Scholar Program to pursue a higher education. After receiving his MBA in business and management, he went to work for the Promontory Financial Group, part of IBM, where he rose through the ranks to serve in a variety of impactful roles, including advising CEOs of large banks in the United States and China on risk management and corporate governance. 

While growing his career at IBM, Mr. Liu simultaneously attended the evening program at the Georgetown University Law Center, receiving his Juris Doctor in international law and legal studies in 2015.   • I represented an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester in his dispute with the buyer in a Tesla vehicle sale transaction. I helped this professor win on motion to dismiss. The Index number is E2023000677., 2023
  • I represented a dozen third-party sellers on Amazon.com in defending a patent infringement case filed by a Florida-based corporation Lead Creation Inc in the Middle District of Florida. The same plaintiff Lead Creation Inc filed a very similar case against a different set of defendants in the Southern District of New York. I filed a motion to terminate the temporary restraining order and the preliminary injunction, and a motion to dismiss, in both cases. After I had won in the Southern District of New York and my motion to terminate the TRO and the PI was granted by the SDNY, the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the complaints in both the SDNY case as well as the Middle District of Florida case. Consequently, the TRO and the PI issued by the Middle District of Florida were also terminated. The Middle District of Florida case number was 23-cv-49-CEH-CPT. , 2023
  • I represented a few third-party sellers on Amazon.com in defending a patent infringement case filed by a corporation Lead Creation Inc in the Southern District of New York. I filed a motion to terminate the temporary restraining order and the preliminary injunction, and a motion to dismiss. After the motion practice including a hearing before a district court judge, my motion to terminate the TRO and the PI was granted. Thereafter, the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the complaint.
