With more than three decades of experience vehemently defending clients in their contentious legal matters, Christopher Delamere Clarke leaves no holds barred in fighting tooth and nail to help them through the challenges of high stakes high exposure litigation toward successful outcomes. Throughout his career Chris has acted as lead trial counsel in hundreds of trials in State and Federal Courts in New York City and the surrounding counties, in a wide array of matters including negligence, construction, transportation and trucking, wrongful death, medical malpractice, civil rights, premises, products, mass tort and appeals, among many others.
After spending a year abroad in Bogota, Colombia where Mr. Clarke became fluent in Spanish, he completed his undergraduate studies in 1987, and thereafter went on to attend Brooklyn Law School at night, while working full time as a paralegal and trial prep man for the legendary trial attorney Peter James Johnson. Only three months after he was admitted to practice, Chris tried his first case before a jury in Bronx County, and he has not looked back since. Revered within the legal community, Mr. Clarke has been a frequent lecturer at CLE courses addressed to pre-trial discovery, deposition technique and practice, trial strategy, and cross-examination.
Outside of his law practice, Mr. Clarke has raised money for cancer research running the NYC Marathon three times as part of Fred’s Team, he is a musician and songwriter, a community volunteer and a mental health advocate. He is bi-lingual and maintains strong ties with friends and family around the world. He is an active member in good standing of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Suffolk County Bar Association.
