Daniel Rothschild

Daniel Rothschild is senior counsel at Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan, LLP, where he handles complex matrimonial and family law matters, including custody disputes, equitable distribution of substantial assets, maintenance and child support litigation, and related settlement processes. Based in New York, New York, his practice also addresses financial valuation and discovery issues that commonly arise in high-stakes domestic cases.

At Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan, LLP, Mr. Rothschild applies a practice-oriented approach that balances rigorous courtroom preparation with strategic negotiation. He draws on more than a decade of focused matrimonial work following an initial period in civil litigation, structuring case plans that account for both legal and financial dimensions to achieve practical outcomes for clients.

Earlier professional experience in the financial services industry informs Mr. Rothschild’s handling of matters involving business valuations, investments and complex asset portfolios. That background allows him to evaluate financial records and work effectively with forensic accountants and valuation specialists, helping to frame disputes and settlement proposals in technically informed terms.

A committed contributor to the bar, Mr. Rothschild serves on the Legislative Committee of the Family Law section of the New York State Bar Association and formerly co-chaired the Moot Court Competition Committee at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Those roles reflect an ongoing engagement with policy issues and lawyer development within the matrimonial community.

While in law school, Mr. Rothschild held several formative positions: he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Marianne B. Bowler of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, worked as a law clerk to the Justices of the Administrative Law Appeals Division for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, acted as Note Editor for the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law, and participated on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.

Mr. Rothschild is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, and before federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit and district courts in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He earned a bachelor’s in economics from Northeastern University and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
