Didi Hutt

A well-seasoned attorney concentrating her practice on personal injury and civil rights litigation, Didi Hutt is a founding partner of her law firm, Hutt Law, P.C., based in New York City, New York. With a career that spans over two decades in various facets of the legal field, her areas of practice include personal injury – covering auto accidents, slip/trip and falls, and construction accidents – as well as civil rights litigation and medical malpractice.

Ms. Hutt graduated from the University of Ottawa with her J.D. in 1991 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University, obtained in 1987. Early in her career, she dedicated herself to the defense of the underrepresented as a criminal defense attorney with Legal Aid in Toronto, Canada. During this period, she skillfully represented numerous individuals who were unable to afford legal representation, from the point of arrest to trial. Her relentless advocacy led to countless plea deals and acquittals, safeguarding the rights and futures of her clients.

Transitioning her focus, Ms. Hutt now primarily handles cases in plaintiff’s personal injury and civil rights litigation. Her clients range from individuals fighting against large insurance companies to those challenging the local authorities or private building owners. Her approach is marked by vigorous advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom, combined with a deep empathy for her clients, striving always to secure the most favorable outcomes.

Ms. Hutt’s strategic acumen in litigation is enhanced by her previous experience working at an insurance defense firm. Admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 2000, Ms. Hutt is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.
