- The 1999 Montreal Convention (MC99) controls airline liability and jurisdiction in international aviation accident cases. The panel intends to explore these issues in light of recent cases, discuss how they have impacted cases like Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, and address why the U.S. Supreme Court’s remarkable Ford v. Montana decision should convince American courts to reject airlines’ interpretation of MC99 that prevents American passengers injured outside the U.S. on foreign carriers from suing those carriers in U.S. courts., Speaker, Montreal Convention Jurisdiction: Where in the World Are We?, Embry-Riddle Aviation Law and Insurance Symposium, Legal; Insurance, 2022
