J Ross Jurow

An associate at Rabin Pfeffer and Partners LLP, J Ross Jurow has carved a niche for himself in the realm of family law, focusing on custody, spousal support, child support and equitable distribution. His innovative strategies in resolving challenging cases and his experience in drafting decisions for complex custody and high net worth divorces have endowed him with a profound understanding of judicial decision-making in highly contested, high stakes matrimonial matters.

Hailing from New York City, Mr. Jurow's dedication to family law is deeply rooted in his family's legacy within the New York City legal community, inspired by both his father and grandmother. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. magna cum laude from Lafayette College in 2017, where he was recognized as an EXCEL Scholar for his research on the political influences on the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law in 2020.

During his time at law school, Mr. Jurow gained invaluable experience interning at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in the Rackets Bureau, where he was involved in investigations related to cybercrimes, terrorism and cryptocurrency fraud. 

Mr. Jurow also served as a legal extern at the CDC's Office of the General Counsel in Atlanta, contributing to public health policy and healthcare litigation. His commitment to advocacy was further demonstrated through his work at Emory’s Barton Child Law and Policy Center, where he championed the rights of at-risk children in the Atlanta area.

Before joining Rabin Pfeffer and Partners LLP, Mr. Jurow honed his skills as an Assistant Law Clerk to a Supreme Court justice in a Matrimonial Part of the Kings County Supreme Court for over two years. Additionally, his tenure as a law clerk equipped him with a nuanced understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues, enhancing his sensitivity and approach to such matters. 

Mr. Jurow’s role as a law clerk involved crafting creative solutions for difficult cases and drafting decisions in intricate custody and high net worth divorce cases, further refining his insight into the judicial process in matrimonial law.
