Jake Levy

Jake Levy’s practice encompasses a broad range of transactions in the entertainment and media industries, with an emphasis on television, motion picture, podcast, book publishing, celebrity branding/endorsement and music matters. He represents both individuals and companies, including award-winning documentary and narrative filmmakers, directors, series creators, producers, literary authors, talent and broadcast journalists, as well as leading production companies, media agencies, financiers and distributors.

Jake brings sophisticated experience in negotiating agreements, evaluating business issues, counseling clients and making strategic decisions.  His clients frequently rely on him to oversee their business affairs and to advise on issues from development through distribution in connection with scripted and unscripted productions.

Prior to founding Levy Law, Jake was a partner at entertainment law firm Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo, working with the firm for over a decade.  Before that, Jake was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett where he provided strategic counsel on transactional intellectual property and corporate law matters.

Jake earned his law degree from NYU Law School in 2007, where he graduated cum laude and was awarded the Larry Fleischer Memorial Foundation Prize for extraordinary achievement in the area of sports and entertainment law.
