A partner and trial attorney at the New York City office of Simmons Hanly Conroy, James M. Kramer has earned a reputation as a successful and staunch advocate for the rights of victims of asbestos exposure and their families. His clients include construction workers, longshoremen, auto mechanics and servicemen who have developed mesothelioma due to the use of consumer products, equipment or materials containing the toxic substance. Mr. Kramer is also one the first attorneys in the country to receive multiple verdicts against companies who manufactured asbestos-containing cosmetic talc for sale to consumers.
Mr. Kramer is a 1999 graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He pursued his legal studies at the Camden campus of Rutgers Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2008. While in law school, he served as editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Law Journal and participated in the school's Children's Justice Clinic. After graduation, Mr. Kramer clerked for the presiding judge on the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey until joining Levy Konigsberg LLP. Admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, Mr. Kramer is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
