James W. Kennedy

James W. Kennedy is an attorney at the law firm of James W. Kennedy PLLC, located in New York, New York. • Winning a jury trial with a verdict of $100 million, defeating a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and owner of a Philippine hydroelectric power plant and irrigation facility
• Obtaining a settlement of $20 million in a pre-recession mortgage securities dispute in a federal court
• Obtaining an eight-figure settlement for a commercial landlord in New York in a breach of lease claim against a bank

Mr. Kennedy is actively involved in his community and is a former board member of Gina Gibney Dance, Inc., for whom he provides legal services. It is a performing arts nonprofit organization that is dedicated to social action and providing support to domestic violence survivors.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Kennedy biannually lectures at Columbia University’s Master of Science and Technology program about intellectual property law and its various aspects.
