John Cagney

John Cagney is a partner with the law firm of Kramer, Dillof, Livingston & Moore in New York, New York. Serving clients throughout New York City and Long Island as well as all of Westchester County and the surrounding areas, Mr. Cagney devotes his practice to helping those who suffered an injury or loss as the result of someone else's negligence to achieve the justice they deserve.

Focusing almost exclusively on medical malpractice and wrongful death claims, Mr. Cagney has achieved notable success advocating on behalf of individuals and families adversely affected by birth injuries, surgical errors, failures to diagnose, medication and nursing errors, and other preventable tragedies. He also has extensive experience with cases involving cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy and shoulder dystocia brought on by birth errors.

A 2002 cum laude graduate of Boston College, Mr. Cagney attended Fordham University School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2009. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

After receiving his license to practice, Mr. Cagney served as trial assistant to attorney Tom Moore, one of the firm's senior partners and widely regarded as one of the top trial attorneys in the country. In this role, Mr. Cagney gained invaluable insight into trial preparation and effective trial advocacy, which serves him well as he seeks to achieve the most favorable outcomes possible for his plaintiff clients.

Active in his legal community, Mr. Cagney is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
