John McFerrin-Clancy

Licensed to practice in New York in 1989, John McFerrin-Clancy is the founder of the New York-based law firm McFerrin-Clancy LLC. Concentrating his practice on corporate and business law, he handles contract disputes, business torts, regulatory investigations, finance litigation and commercial litigation issues in the New York metropolitan area.

Mr. McFerrin-Clancy is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 5th Circuit. At his previous law firms, he won several accomplishments including several thousand dollars worth of verdicts for his clients. He successfully defended several high-stake claims filed by the opposition parties, saving his clients money and resources. 

Developing successful independent business and securities litigation practice, Mr. McFerrin-Clancy has also arbitrated a wide range of commercial matters. Apart from this, he also shows leadership capabilities, managing teams of professionals, and providing appropriate supervision and guidance whenever required. In addition, he conducts prelitigation counseling for his clients on various factors such as risks and costs, identified nonlitigation resolutions, planned budgets for offensive/defensive matters and controlled costs.

At McFerrin-Clancy LLC, Mr. McFerrin-Clancy defends contractors, financial institutions and corporates on charges of breach of contract, wage claims, auditor malpractice claims, alleged misstatements and others. He represents firms that are accused of tax evasion and Ponzi schemes, among many others.

An alumnus of Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Mr. McFerrin-Clancy is a 1984 cum laude graduate majoring in government. Attending the Boston University School of Law, Boston, he graduated with his doctorate in jurisprudence magna cum laude in 1988. While at the law school, he was recognized with the G. Joseph Tauro Scholar award, Edward F. Hennesey Scholar award and the Paul J. Liacos Scholar award. He was also appointed as the editor of the Boston University Law Review.
