Jordan Merson

The founder of Merson Law, PLLC, Jordan Merson has developed a reputation as one of the top litigators for his clients in New York and the United States. He has litigated some of the biggest cases across New York State and the Country in the fields of sexual assault, personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability.  Large, highly publicized cases that Mr. Merson has litigated include the Jeffrey Epstein cases (his $650 million Estate setting up a victims compensation fund) litigated from 2020 to 2023, the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases in 2020 to 2021, the Larry Nassar cases vs Michigan State University and USA gymnastics from 2019 to 2023, the recent December 2022 filing of a lawsuit against Bill Cosby and a $200 million personal injury lawsuit against the City of New York.  In 2018, he secured a $28 million sexual assault jury verdict, which we believe is the largest of its kind at the time in New York State history.  Mr. Merson also had the second largest medical malpractice verdict in New York State 2020 per lexis/nexis.  He was named to the New York Law Review Medical Malpractice Jury Verdicts Hall of Fame.  In 2022, Mr. Merson represented former New York Giants football player Michael Cox at trial, which resulted in a $28.5 million verdict that we believe will be one of the top medical malpractice verdicts in the entire state for the year.  

Mr. Merson has extensive experience litigating cases valued in excess of $1 million and many of the cases that he was worked on have settled for more than $10 million.  When insurance companies have refused to settle, Mr. Merson has taken these cases to trial and helped his clients secure recoveries in excess of $1 million.  Mr. Merson has received numerous awards and accolades for his hard work and accomplishments, including being selected to New York Law Journal's Hall of Fame for medical malpractice verdicts.  Less than twenty lawyers in all of New York State were given this honor.  Mr. Merson has also been included in the National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Trial Lawyers, ALM's top verdicts and settlements and the top verdicts in New York State published by New York Magazine. Highly regarded by his fellow professionals, Mr. Merson has received the top possible rating of "Superb" in the legal specialties of personal injury, medical malpractice, birth injury, brain injury and labor and employment through Avvo.

Mr. Merson completed his undergraduate education at Boston University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 2002. He then attended Fordham University School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2005. Admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Mr. Merson was a partner at a New York City civil litigation firm before founding Merson Law, PLLC.

Mr. Merson is an active member in several legal organizations, including the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association. He has served as a committee member for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's E-Discovery Working Group since 2011.
