Joseph P. Spinola

Joseph Spinola has successfully mediated over 7,000 disputes.  He is a former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Nassau County. Judge Spinola has extensive experience litigating and presiding over a wide array of civil disputes including complex commercial, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, business, employment, labor law, premises liability, insurance coverage, matrimonial, and financial matters. 

Since leaving the bench in March, 2010, Joe Spinola has become one of the most popular and successful mediators in New York. He was voted the #1 Mediator in the U.S. for seven consecutive years by lawyers in the National Law Journal survey (2018-2024), and voted #1 Mediator in New York by lawyers in the New York Law Journal survey for five consecutive years. He was also selected as an inaugural member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and named a 2016-2018 National Law Journal ADR Champion, as part of a select group of only 48 neutrals nationwide.
