Joshua Kelner

Attorney Joshua D. Kelner, of Kelner & Kelner, is a fierce advocate for clients injured in personal injury matters. With a notable record of client wins from the outset of his legal career, he is considered a rising star of the legal profession and has earned a reputation as a tough negotiator and skilled courtroom lawyer.

Mr. Kelner’s dedication to the physical, emotional and financial well-being of his clients has led to numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements. He handles wide-ranging and complex matters involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, medical malpractice, dangerous products and civil rights abuses. He recently obtained a verdict against the New York City Transit Authority of approximately $20 million for a man whose leg was caught in the gap between the train and the platform and was dragged when the train moved.

Mr. Kelner is a Harvard Law School graduate and was the associate editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. A strong believer in the constitutional, legal and civil rights of his clients, he has successfully helped the injured recover in lawsuits involving constitutional rights violations, including against the NYPD and guards at Rikers Island.

Mr. Kelner is admitted to practice in all New York state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He has helped to shape personal injury law in New York by successfully arguing before the New York State Court of Appeals.

Mr. Kelner has spoken at the New York County Lawyers Association’s Trial Practice Institute and authored an article in the University of Dayton Law Review.
