- All too often I find myself having to draw a "red line" with clients and potential clients. I refuse to cross it. I refuse to be present if it occurs. The truth is hard, but 100% of the time this red line stops clients from making a grave mistake in their divorce process. This is how I know I was made to be a matrimonial lawyer! - Hi, I’m Mia Poppe, the Managing Partner of the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates, conveniently located in midtown, Manhattan. The Firm’s practice areas include Family Law, Immigration Law, and Business Law. It is critical that you choose the right person to advocate on your behalf, especially when you are involved in a family law matter. In this video, I will cover four (4) of the many reasons why choosing the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates, is a great choice. Please stay with me in this video until I get to the best reason, our Relentless Advocacy: (1) My clients frequently say, “Mia gets it”. And I do, I get it. I am a mature practitioner, bringing over a half a century of life experience to every client matter. (2) Our Economical pricing – we never overbill our clients, and we are comfortable discussing payment plans to ensure our clients can afford our legal services. (3) Exceptional communications –We pride ourselves in the fact that we return every client call and email, Moreover, it is our practice to provide updates to our clients before they call us. Our clients are the center of all we do. (4) And finally, Relentless advocacy – the quality I like to talk about most. Some clients have affectionately likened me to ABC’s Olivia Pope of the hit show, Scandal. I laughingly tell them that Mia Poppe is the real “fixer”, Olivia Pope is fictitious. While family law matters are certainly non-entertaining, I understand why they make the comparison. The Firm’s relentless advocacy, reminds them of Ms. Pope’s gladiator approach. We craft smart strategies for your case, and we are relentless in our execution. I encourage you to call the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates today to schedule your free in office consultation. Remember, at the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates, we get it, our pricing is economical, our clients are at the center of all that we do, and our advocacy is relentless. - Hi, I’m Mia Poppe, the Managing Partner of the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates. First, thank you for viewing our video titled, “I’m a parent, not George Steinbrenner. Too frequently, the non-custodial parent is relegated to no more than a check writer, without any true voice in the parenting of his or her children. I help clients who have been marginalized to the status of a mere check writer. The two most common legal issues faced by my clients struggling with the “George Steinbrenner issue” are: Firstly, lack of parenting time or decision making ability, and secondly, in the post 2008 world, the need for a downward modification in previously awarded support payments. If you are experiencing either the lack of parenting time or you need a downward modification of support payments, I encourage you to contact the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates today, to schedule your free initial consultation. - Hi, I’m Mia Poppe, the Managing Partner of the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates. First, thank you for viewing our video titled, Parental Alienation. Too frequently, the non-custodial parent’s attempt to co-parent their child or children is wrongfully hampered or frustrated. This wrongful frustration of parenting may rise to the level of what psychologists call parental alienation. If you believe you are experiencing parental alienation, you may be entitled to legal remedy. I often pursue two legal courses for my clients that are experiencing the harsh effects of alienation: first, I may file a petition to modify the custody or parenting time arrangement if there has been a substantial change in circumstances and the best interest of the child is no longer being served. Second, a drastic action is to file a motion requesting that child support payments be suspended due to the unreasonable frustration of visitation with the child. Please know, our courts vigilantly guard the interest of minors, and a suspension of child support is an extreme remedy, but nonetheless, it is an available remedy if the facts justify it. If you believe you are experiencing parental alienation, I encourage you to contact the Law Firm of Shaw & Associates today, to schedule your free initial consultation with me.
