Kelly Kotliar

Kelly Kotliar is a partner at the law firm of Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein, LLP, which has its offices in New York, New York. She focuses her practice on family law matters including divorce, equitable distribution, separation agreements, pre- and postnuptial agreements, spousal support, child support and child custody, marital property distribution, paternity, relocation and more.

Graduating cum laude, Ms. Kotliar received her Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations and Spanish from The State University of New York at New Paltz. She studied a semester abroad at the Universidad de Sevilla. She obtained her Juris Doctor at the St. John's University School of Law in 2012 and graduated with dean’s list honors.

While in law school, Ms. Kotliar was editor-in-chief of the New York Litigator Law Journal and was president of the Family Law Society. She is licensed to practice law in New York. She takes satisfaction in being able to resolve even the most controversial and complicated situations by drawing on the abilities she has developed through training and experience in mediation and collaborative law.

Ms. Kotliar tailors her strategy to the unique circumstances of each of her clients' situations since she is aware that every client has different requirements and objectives. She works assiduously to seek a favorable settlement for her client while also being ready for a trial, if necessary. She has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell for her notable work in the family law field.

An active member of the legal society, Ms. Kotliar holds affiliations in the New York State Bar Association, the association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York, the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and the Young Attorney Matrimonial Society (YAMS), which she co-founded.
