Kristen M. Santillo

Kristen M. Santillo is a partner and co-founder of the New York City, New York, law firm of Gelber + Santillo Law. A skilled litigator with 18-plus years of experience, she concentrates her practice on criminal defense and general civil litigation. A summa cum laude graduate of Boston College, Ms. Santillo obtained her Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1999. She received her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 2003. In recognition of her academic achievement, she was awarded the Harlan Fiske Stone Scholarship. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Timothy M. Burgess at the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska and for Chief Justice Dana Fabe at the Alaska Supreme Court.

At the start of her legal career, Ms. Santillo worked with other well-known New York and New Jersey law firms and gained extensive experience representing witnesses and targets in enforcement proceedings filed by government agencies such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the New York State Attorney General and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in cases related to insider trading, financial crisis, subprime mortgages and accounting/ bank fraud.
