Lee A. Koch is the managing partner at Koch Law, PLLC, based in New York City, New York, where he focuses on criminal and immigration law. Before embarking on his legal career, he served in the United States Air Force, where he was a signals intelligence and network reconstruction analyst. His role involved safeguarding sensitive military intelligence and implementing advanced cybersecurity measures against global threats. This experience instilled in him a strong sense of duty and honor, which he carries into his legal practice.
After his military service, Mr. Koch attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in humanities and justice studies, and minors in history, literature and philosophy. At college, he was actively involved in reviving the Creative Writing Association and was a member of Sigma Tau Delta. His education equipped him with skills in criminal justice, civil rights and forensic science, which he applies in his legal work. He earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2014. He was licensed in New York in 2016.
During law school, Mr. Koch was dedicated to gaining courtroom experience and volunteered extensively. He participated in the Volunteer Lawyer for a Day program, successfully litigating over 150 pro bono cases in consumer debt and assisting low-income tenants and landlords. His efforts earned him the Pro Bono Service Award from the Unified Court System of New York.
In his second year, Mr. Koch interned at a federal criminal defense firm, where he worked on high-profile cases involving international crimes and financial fraud. His competence in surveillance technology and data analysis contributed to successful client defenses. He also developed a keen interest in immigration law, viewing it as a modern civil rights issue. He volunteered with the Safe Passage Project, representing undocumented juvenile immigrants and refugees, and was recognized with the Pro Bono Service Award by New York Law School.
Mr. Koch is an active member of several legal associations, including the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. His commitment to justice and client advocacy is evident in his "Clients First, Justice Always" approach, making him a respected figure in the legal community. He also boasts a “Superb” rating on Avvo.
