Attorney Meryl A. Hoeft is a partner at Fersch LLC in the heart of the New York City, New York. She concentrates her practice exclusively on family law, representing clients in the New York metropolitan region. She handles all types of family law matters, including those involving divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, prenuptial agreements, order enforcement, order modification, protection orders and spousal support.
Over the course of her legal career, Ms. Hoeft has litigated at the state and appellate levels. She is a strong advocate who is skilled at negotiating for her clients to achieve the best positive solution for their situation.
Ms. Hoeft graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in history. She received her law degree from New York Law School. She participated in many activities while attending law school, including serving as articles editor for the New York Law School Law Review and working as an associate for the Diane Abbey Law Institute for Children and Families.
Prior to law school, Ms. Hoeft served as a volunteer coordinator for AmeriCorps and was employed as an intellectual property legal assistant. Following law school graduation, she obtained her license to practice law in 2014. Her passion for family law since her days as a student at the law school motivated her to choose this niche as her practice area.
Ms. Hoeft enjoys staying active in her legal community when she is not serving her clients. In 2025, Ms. Hoeft completed the 60-hour mediation training offered by the NY State Council on Divorce Mediation. She is a member of professional organizations, including the New York State Bar Association and the New York Women’s Bar Association.
