Michael J. Ciarlo is a partner with Nadel & Ciarlo, P.C., located in New York, New York. Providing representation to individual and business clients throughout the New York City metropolitan area, his varied practice encompasses real estate and general business transactions as well as litigation.
Some of the representative real estate matters that Mr. Ciarlo handles include landlord/tenant disputes, ownership, title and deed issues, and complex purchase and sale transactions. Mr. Ciarlo also provides advice and counsel to cooperative and condominium boards on their daily operations, and he handles related issues regarding improvements, repairs, common charges and maintenance fees, alteration agreements, construction defects and common area matters.
Mr. Ciarlo's business and commercial law practice involve providing assistance to clients with the formation of startup companies, including the choice of legal entity that the businesses will operate under as well as the regulatory compliance issues that the new ventures are likely to face. He also regularly helps existing companies that wish to establish a business presence in New York City. Mr. Ciarlo has extensive experience in handling business litigation involving shareholder disputes, contract breaches and business torts such as the unauthorized use of trade secrets.
Prior to pursuing his legal studies, Mr. Ciarlo was an undergraduate at New York University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 1995. He then attended Brooklyn Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1998. He has been with his current firm since becoming admitted to practice in New York in 1999. In addition to New York, Mr. Ciarlo is also admitted to practice in New Jersey.
