Details
As the founder of Brill Legal Group, PC, Peter E. Brill assists clients throughout the New York City metropolitan area in a wide range of criminal defense matters. His experience in both federal and state courts has led to him being one of only two attorneys in the state to be certified in criminal trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In addition to defending individuals charged with misdemeanors and felonies such as domestic violence, embezzlement and fraud, Mr. Brill has advocated on behalf of health care workers and other professionals before state and local administrative agencies.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Brown University in 1994, Mr. Brill went on to attend Georgetown University Law Center and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1997. After graduation, he spent three years as an assistant district attorney with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office before entering private practice. Admitted to practice in New York, Mr. Brill is a member of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also active in the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court and the New York County Lawyers Association American Inn of Court. Since 2000, Mr. Brill has assisted the American Civil Liberties Union as a cooperating attorney on a pro bono basis, and he has served as an adjunct professor at the New York Institute of Technology.
His successes in the courtroom, as well as his high degree of ethics, have led Mr. Brill to receive high praise from his fellow professionals. He has been named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 each year since 2014, and he has received a perfect 10.0 "Superb" peer-review rating through Avvo.
