Raymond T. Mellon

Attorney Raymond T. Mellon is a senior partner with Zetlin & De Chiara LLP law firm, and he works primarily out of the firm's law office in New York City. Nationally recognized as a leader in construction law, Mr. Mellon has more than 38 years of total legal experience, and he provides unmatched counsel and support to a diverse range of clients across his region as well as throughout the country who have serious, complex and pressing construction-related legal issues they need to address.

Along with maintaining a successful litigation practice, Mr. Mellon routinely counsels his clients on all matters related to contract drafting and negotiation, risk management, and other areas. He has extensive experience with architectural, engineering and contracting matters, and he has become a recognized authority on issues associated with building in New York City's urban environment, particularly with regards to complex safety and licensing issues.

Mr. Mellon obtained his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 1981, and the New York State Bar Association admitted him to practice the following year. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of International Trade, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is an Honorary Member of the New York State AIA as well as the Brooklyn and Queens AIA Chapters. He is also an active member of the New York Building Congress’ Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, the Architects Council of New York City and the National and New York Chapters of the Society of American Registered Architects, among his other professional affiliations.
