Richard L. Rosen

Richard L. Rosen is the founding member of Rosen Karol Salis, PLLC, in New York, New York, and is a committed franchise law attorney. With over 5 decades of experience in law, he has established himself as a reputable attorney within the legal fraternity. Throughout his career in franchise law, Mr. Rosen has represented many franchisors and franchisees and counseled them in setting up franchising systems, formed franchising entities and negotiated franchise agreements and other documents. He has also litigated matters in both state and federal courts and has arbitrated and mediated matters on their behalf. He is a sought-after lecturer on franchising and has been interviewed by publications such as the American Bar Association Journal, the Franchise Times and Forbes Magazine.

Mr. Rosen graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy before joining New York Law School for further legal education. He gained his J.D. in 1968 and, in the same year, earned his license to practice law in New York. Furthermore, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd and 9th Circuits. His professional prowess has brought him various recognitions, including being listed in Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in America, for which he was recently chosen to receive the lifetime achievement award.

Mr. Rosen is a recipient of the Global Award of Franchise Law, which stands as a testament to his commitment to franchise law. He also received the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers’ Total Quality Franchising Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 and has been a long-time member of the American Bar Association’s Forum Committee on Franchising.
