Ron S. Geffner

Widely recognized for his comprehensive representation in the financial services industry, Ron S. Geffner is a partner at Sadis Goldberg LLP. On behalf of private investment vehicles, brokers, dealers, commodity pool operators, investment advisory organizations and other investment fiduciaries located in the United States and internationally, Mr. Geffner provides legal counsel regarding the structure and other operational and commercial issues. Clients under regulatory investigation or actions also seek his strategic advice.

As a former prosecutor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ( the "SEC"), Mr. Geffner is well-versed in both state and federal securities laws and practices. Having investigated violations of these laws while collaborating with various criminal agencies, he has an intimate working knowledge of various industry regulators and associations such as the SEC, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and National Futures Association.

Mr. Geffner routinely addresses client issues using a forward-thinking strategy. He has the ability to anticipate future challenges and knows how to structure a plan to mitigate risks. He and his colleagues represent hundreds of private equity, hedge and venture capital funds that have been organized in the United States and internationally.

For his decades of experience, Mr. Geffner is often a guest on national media outlets such as “CBS This Morning” and “Closing Bell” on CNBC. The ACQ Law Awards presented Mr. Geffner with its U.S. (New York) Best Private Funds/Hedge Funds Lawyer of the Year award in 2013. He has held leadership positions with the Hedge Fund Association.

Mr. Geffner graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 1988. He then earned a Juris Doctor in 1991 from the Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
