A highly regarded trial lawyer, Samuel M. Meirowitz is the co-founder of Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP. Providing representation to clients throughout the New York City metropolitan area, he focuses his practice primarily on plaintiff's personal injury and wrongful death litigation, with a particular emphasis on assisting people who have been harmed by exposure to asbestos and other toxic materials. In 1996, Mr. Meirowitz graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Arts. He then pursued his legal education at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, part of Yeshiva University. After graduation, he joined a firm that handled bad faith insurance claims on behalf of policy holders. Mr. Meirowitz then spent several years as a prosecutor at the Office of the Bronx District Attorney and then six years as a senior trial lawyer with one of the nation's leading plaintiff firms before co-founding his current firm in 2015. Admitted to practice in New York, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
During his career in private practice, Mr. Meirowitz has successfully obtained several high-dollar settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients, including a nearly $4 million award in an asbestos trial. While not in the courtroom, he has taught law as an adjunct professor at Queens College, part of the City University of New York.
