As the founder of Harford, P.C., located in New York, New York, Scott A. Harford devotes his practice to assisting area clients in a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death cases. He has advocated successfully on behalf of plaintiffs who have been harmed by the negligence of others by defective products, faulty medical devices and toxic materials. Mr. Harford's skills in the courtroom and at the negotiating table have earned him a place in the exclusive Million Dollar Advocates Forum. After graduating with honors from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 1997, Mr. Harford went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2000. While there, Mr. Harford was a member of the Public Interest Law Association and an editor of the Duquesne Law Review. He is licensed to practice law before the state courts of New York and New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Harford is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Several of Mr. Harford’s most significant cases have involved individuals who were catastrophically injured after taking prescription or over-the-counter drugs or suffered serious injuries after using defective products. He has also worked with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to secure the voluntary recall of consumer goods. Mr. Harford's successes on behalf of his clients have earned him a "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo.
Most recently, Mr. Harford has been representing individuals catastrophically injured from Legionella bacteria. He currently represents 15 clients in the Sugar Hill Project outbreak from 2018. He has also represented clients in Legionella outbreaks in the Bronx, Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey.
