Shirin Movahed Rakocevic

A business and corporate law attorney, Shirin Movahed Rakocevic is a partner at KI Legal law firm, located in New York, New York; Long Island City, New York; and Jersey City, New Jersey. She works out of the New York City office, helping people in and around the metro area with legal matters involving:

Ms. Rakocevic graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western University and then pursued her Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in finance and a minor in international law, graduating summa cum laude from Ryerson University in 2002. She then went to the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Shepard Broad College of Law and earned her law degree, cum laude, in 2006. While there, she functioned as the Law Review editor and a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She also took part in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America's Trial Team and Negotiation Competitions.

Licensed to practice in Florida in 2006 and, later, in the District of Columbia (2009) and New York (2013), Ms. Rakocevic is a skilled litigator with vast legal knowledge. She is well-versed in French and Persian, and, over the years, she has assisted a diverse range of clients across the economic spectrum in setting up entrepreneurships and scaling business ventures. Her clientele includes media companies, lifestyle brands, celebrities and technology startups. 

Well-experienced in the fashion, arts and tech industry, Ms. Rakocevic helps her clients expand their networks into foreign markets. She also guides them in dealing with shareholder agreements, brand protection, and asset purchase and sale agreements. Sharing her legal acumen with law students and colleagues, she often lectures and presents on topics such as establishing and expanding businesses.
