Silvia Stanciu

Attorney Silvia Stanciu is an associate with Phillips & Associates, Attorneys at Law, PLLC, which has three law offices throughout New York and New Jersey. Licensed to practice in both states, Ms. Stanciu represents clients across the region who face serious and complex legal challenges regarding employment law and civil rights violations.

Born and raised in Romania, Ms. Stanciu has a deep passion for protecting the rights of workers, and she has achieved notable success advocating on behalf of those dealing with workplace discrimination and sexual harassment claims, wage and hour disputes, employer retaliation and wrongful termination, and other serious work-related grievances.

After graduating magna cum laude from Hofstra University Honors College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature, Ms. Stanciu returned to her alma mater and attended Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.

She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2015, and she was highly active during her time in law school, serving the Dispute Resolution Society as a member of its e-board as well as participating in the international Vis Moot Arbitration competition in Vienna. She also completed the E. David Woycik, Jr. Intensive Trial Techniques Program.

Following law school, Ms. Stanciu interned with another prominent New York law firm, where she began honing her legal skills regarding employment law litigation. She joined Phillips & Associates, Attorneys at Law, PLLC, in 2016, and she has quickly earned a reputation as an emerging leader in her field.

Along with practicing before all New York and New Jersey state courts, Ms. Stanciu is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. She is fluent in Romanian and Spanish, which helps her communicate directly with those who may struggle with English.

Active in her legal community, she is a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
