Ms. Zhao leads the firm’s Startup Law practice, advising clients across the entertainment, creative, and retail industries. In the field of business immigration and extraordinary ability planning, Ms. Zhao has deep experience guiding professionals through EB-1A, NIW, and O-1 petitions. Ms. Zhao's educational background includes an LL.B. from Peking University Law School and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. Admitted to New York and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, she is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Before her tenure at the firm, Ms. Zhao gained extensive experience in international business and public international law. She served as a researcher at the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs in New York and at the United Nations International Law Commission in Geneva. During her time at the U.N., she provided legal assistance to South African and Chinese commissioners.
Ms. Zhao’s decade-long experience includes comprehensive planning and representation for U.S.-based creative agencies, artist studios and culinary professionals, ensuring that their founders and key executives secure proper U.S. business immigration status. Additionally, she provides extensive counsel on corporate governance and intellectual property strategies for fashion and design brands, among several other legal services.
