Yonatan S. Levoritz established Levoritz Law Firm in 2007 in New York City, New York, and currently works as an attorney at the establishment. It was earlier named the Law Office of Yonatan S. Levoritz when it was founded in 2005 – soon after he was admitted to the New York State Bar Association. Since then, he has built a strong reputation for success based on his comprehensive approach to a diverse range of legal matters encompassing civil, criminal, business, matrimonial and appellate law, as well as estate planning and elder law. His practice is focused primarily in and around New York County as well as Westchester, Rockland, Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Drawing from decades of experience, Mr. Levoritz handles complex cases across various practice areas. In 2008, his remarkable achievements both inside and outside the courtroom led to him being named Professional of the Year in Matrimonial Law by Strathmore’s Who’s Who, making him the youngest attorney at the time to receive this prestigious honor. He has also been rated “Superb” on Avvo and is peer-review rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Levoritz is actively involved in all cases at his firm, collaborating closely with attorneys, consultants and witnesses to achieve amicable resolutions for his clients. Throughout his career, he has accumulated extensive experience in business and civil law, appeals and especially matrimonial and family law. He is known for his strong advocacy for fathers' rights in family law matters, aiming to protect their rights in a system that often appears biased towards mothers in divorce and custody matters.
Apart from his legal practice, Mr. Levoritz has represented high-profile individuals, including celebrities and hedge fund managers, and has been quoted in national publications for his legal proficiency. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He is admitted to practice law in the state of New York and is an active member of the New York County Lawyers Association, particularly in the Matrimonial Law Section.

- In making a determination as to equitable distribution of the marital assets, the referee properly considered the statutory factors enumerated in the version of Domestic Relations Law § 236(B)(5)(d) in effect as the record supported the conclusion that the husband wastefully dissipated at least $ 285,000 in assets by choosing to abandon several business ventures; [2]-The court further affirmed the wife's seven-year post divorce maintenance award of $ 3,000 per month because the evidence presented at the hearing regarding the marital lifestyle was such that the Referee had a basis to conclude that the husband's actual income and resources were greater than reported, the parties were married for 26 years, and the award was appropriate for the wife to become self-supporting given the factors involved.Kaprov v. - The family court should have awarded a mother sole legal and physical custody of the parties' child without imposing the conditions related to the mother and the child relocating to New York City because its determination that the child's best interests were served by the relocation, which was primarily based on a finding that the child's relocation to Binghamton threatened the child's relationship with the father, lacked a sound and substantial basis in the record.Matter of Wright v.
