Derek S. Andrews

Derek S. Andrews is an associate attorney at the law firm Larkin Ingrassia, PLLC, which has its offices in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York (Newburgh, Middletown, and Kingston). He focuses his practice primarily on criminal defense and DWI/DUI matters throughout the state of New York.

Graduating magna cum laude in three years, Mr. Andrews obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in history and a minor in pre-law from Western New Mexico University. He then quickly moved to Syracuse University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor with dean’s list honors in 2012.

During law school, Mr. Andrews diversified his educational experience by obtaining a certificate in national security and counterterrorism; clerking for the Federal Public Defender's Capital Habeas Unit for the District of Nevada, where he worked on death row inmate cases; and working for the Securities Arbitration and Consumer Law Clinic at Syracuse Law.

Since graduating from law school, Mr. Andrews further honed his skills in the courtroom by attending the New York State Bar Association’s annual trial academy held each year at Cornell Law School and Steven Epstein's DWI Defense Institute. He also served as an elected board member of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NYSACDL).

Additionally, Mr. Andrews is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the National College for DUI Defense.
