Brett L. Manske

Brett Manske is the Managing Attorney in the Rochester, NY office of The Barnes Firm. From the start of his career, Brett has been committed to the pursuit of justice. After studying pre-medicine in college, Brett chose to channel his passion for helping others into the law, where he could advocate for individuals during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Immediately after graduating law school, he was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, a role that allowed him to represent victims of crime and gain invaluable trial experience in one of the nation’s busiest court systems.

As a prosecutor in New York City, Brett worked tirelessly to ensure that justice was served for people who had been wronged. He developed the skills necessary to take complex cases to trial, cross-examine expert witnesses, and present compelling arguments before juries — skills that continue to define his practice today.

After several years in Manhattan, Brett returned home to Rochester, New York, where he was raised with a strong sense of family and community. He began practicing civil law alongside Steve Barnes, representing individuals and families whose lives had been changed by serious accidents. This work gave Brett the opportunity to combine his medical background with his courtroom skills, using both to fight for injury victims and ensure they had the resources needed to recover.

Today, as a Managing Attorney at The Barnes Firm, Brett continues his mission of pursuing justice for those whose lives have been forever altered by someone else’s negligence. He represents clients in a wide range of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, construction and workplace injuries, slip & fall accidents, truck accidents, wrongful death matters, and other complex negligence claims.
