Mark J. Goldsmith

A partner at the law firm of Jakubowski, Robertson, Maffei, Goldsmith & Tartaglia, LLP, in St. James, New York, Mark J. Goldsmith has been practicing law for more than 62 years. Focusing his practice on business and corporate law, he takes on cases including those involving commercial and residential transactions as well as negligence. 

With extensive experience litigating commercial matters and trying negligence cases, Mr. Goldsmith has a reputation for being a zealous and aggressive advocate for his clients’ rights and liberties. He is a compassionate and empathetic attorney who handles all cases efficiently, cost-effectively and diligently. 

With a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, Mr. Goldsmith obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. After law school, he worked at a law firm in Bay Shore, New York, where he took on commercial law and negligence matters. In 1988, he founded the law firm Jakubowski, Robertson & Goldsmith. 

Actively involved in prominent legal associations, Mr. Goldsmith has memberships in the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and its Insurance and Negligence Sections, and the Suffolk County Retired Detectives Association, where he serves as organizing attorney and counsel. He is licensed to practice in all New York state courts and before the U.S. District Courts of the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York as well as the U.S. Federal Court of Claims in Washington, D.C. 

Mr. Goldsmith is frequently selected as a receiver and referee in many legal matters by renowned Suffolk County Supreme Court judges.
