Adelola's path to becoming an attorney began with obtaining her Bachelor's degree in English, earned from Wagner College in Staten Island. During her college years, she immersed herself in the complexities of society, minoring in Sociology to better understand the human social experience. After graduation, she embarked on a brief but impactful real estate career, where she honed her negotiation skills and saved diligently for law school.
In pursuit of her legal aspirations, Adelola enrolled at the City University School of Law in Flushing, Queens, where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree. It was during this time that she developed her reputation as a "truth speaker," unafraid to confront difficult realities head-on, even when it meant challenging the status quo.
Upon receiving her law degree, Adelola wasted no time diving into the field of family law, beginning her career as a judge’s personal attorney (law clerk/court attorney) in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and eventually in New York City (60 Centre Street) as well. Her experiences navigating the complexities of the court system solidified her passion for justice, particularly in family law matters. It was under the mentorship of the late Honorable Paul A. Kapalko, former presiding judge of the Monmouth County Family Part, that Adelola found her calling. Inspired by his dedication to precision, excellence and equity, she resolved to advocate fiercely for those who often found themselves overlooked in the family law and divorce legal process.
In March 2023, Adelola took a bold step forward, renaming her practice from The Law Offices of Adelola Sheralynn Dow to Dow Divorce Law. This decision reflected a renewed focus on the firm's mission: to provide unwavering support and advocacy for husbands and fathers navigating the complexities of divorce and family court proceedings. Under her leadership, Dow Divorce Law has become synonymous with skill, integrity, compassion, and tenacity, with each team member sharing Adelola's commitment to truth and justice.
Adelola continues to embody the values that fuel her life’s work—resilience, empathy, and determination. Her relentless drive to reshape the legal system is as strong as ever. With every case she takes on, Adelola stands as an advocate for husbands, fathers, and families, working to ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are protected. She’s not just practicing law—she’s leading a movement, one client at a time.
