Michael Spano

Michael Spano is a seasoned attorney at Michael Spano Law, in Syracuse, New York, concentrating his practice on criminal defense. Mr. Spano’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Nazareth College of Rochester in 1989, followed by earning his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1992. Upon his admission to the New York State Bar in 1993, he embarked on his career in law.

With his professional path including pivotal roles in both defense and prosecution, Mr. Spano has worked as a criminal defense attorney in Cayuga County, where he defended individuals facing serious accusations such as murder and drug offenses. In 1998, he transitioned to the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office as an assistant district attorney, where he prosecuted violent felony offenses. His dedication and skill led to his promotion as the Chief Assistant District Attorney, overseeing the Homicide Bureau.

Throughout his career, Mr. Spano has been involved in numerous high-profile cases, including Onondaga County's first hate crime prosecution and a murder-for-hire case, both resulting in significant convictions.
