Amina Rashad

Amina Rashad is the founding attorney of the Long Island-based family law firm Amina Rashad & Associates, P.C., in New York. She handles matrimonial and family law matters such as annulments, contested and uncontested divorce, child custody and child support and provides her service to the people in and around New York City and Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Counties). 

Ms. Rashad has a unique background, having first studied Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, then earning an additional degree in Philosophy from Stony Brook University in 2009. Following the fire within her to help people, she enrolled in Brooklyn Law School and received her doctorate in jurisprudence in 2013. Along with focusing on her academics, she interned as a summer associate and law clerk at a few renowned organizations, including a ten-month externship with a matrimonial judge in Queens County Supreme Court. 

A persuasive and diligent attorney, Ms. Rashad understands how difficult and emotionally tormenting it can be for her clients to face family legal issues and strives to hold their hands during their trying times and instill in them hope for a bright future. She makes sure to respond on time to her clients and keep them well updated throughout the process. 

Ms. Rashad’s contribution to the legal society in the past seven years has been recognized and honored by organizations. She was included on The National Advocates Top 40 Under 40 list in 2017, and the next year, she was named to the Family Law Rising Star list by the American Institute of Legal Counsel. She is also rated “Excellent” on Avvo.

Ms.Rashad leads a team of two other attorneys and two support staff in her Uniondale office.
