Desmond C.B. Lyons

Desmond C.B. Lyons is a founding partner at the law firm of Lyons McGovern, LLP, located in White Plains, New York. The types of cases he handles include employment law, municipal law, commercial litigation and trial practice, shareholder disputes, corporate dissolution, negligence defense, general corporate counsel, transactional law, criminal defense, and tort trial and insurance law. 

With immense experience in the field of law, Mr. Lyons fights aggressively for his clients’ rights and liberties. He ensures that his clients are well guided through each stage of their case and explains legal jargon in a simple and comprehensible manner to them. 

Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University, Mr. Lyons attended law school at the Quinnipiac University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1993. He is licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut and before the New York State Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. 

Active in the field of law, Mr. Lyons has memberships in the Westchester County Magistrates Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, the New York State Magistrates Association, the New York State Bar Association’s Federal and Commercial Litigation Section, and the Westchester County Bar Association. He has also volunteered his time to his community and served as a chair of the Irish International Business Network and the Lawyers Committee for the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. 

Additionally, Mr. Lyons serves as a court-appointed mediator and a hearing officer at the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. He also serves as the Village Justice for the Village of Irvington. Honored for his notable work in the legal field, he was a Top Law & Order Honoree named by the Irish Echo.
