Kimberly A. Catala

Kimberly Ann Catala is a lawyer at Filippatos PLLC, located in White Plains, New York. Her prior roles also include serving as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Carla E. Craig of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. There, Ms. Catala honed her skills in research, drafting opinions and bench memoranda. Another pivotal internship was with Administrative Judge Erin Stilp at the EEOC, where she investigated claims and drafted final decisions, particularly in workplace discrimination and wrongful termination cases.

Ms. Catala's commitment to employment law began during her time as a student attorney at the Brooklyn Legal Services Employment Law Clinic. Here, she represented clients in hearings before the U.S. Department of Labor, tackling issues such as unemployment benefits eligibility, allegations of misconduct and FLSA violations. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in employment-related legal matters.

Ms. Catala earned her Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School, where she co-founded the Brooklyn Law Labor and Employment Law Association, and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She was recognized with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Appellate Advocacy and Advanced Legal Research and received the Block Judicial Fellowship student prize. She completed her undergraduate education at Lafayette College, where she majored in international affairs, government and law while also taking on various leadership roles.

Ms. Catala is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
