Ellen S. Simpson

Ellen S. Simpson is a managing member and a trademark attorney at the law firm Simpson & Simpson, PLLC, located in Williamsville, New York. She focuses her practice exclusively on intellectual property law and federal litigation. With over three decades of legal experience, she is also a certified public accountant. 

Protecting the rights and liberties of her clients, Ms. Simpson uses her extensive experience and skill for the benefit of her clients. She explains complex legal jargon to her clients so that they are well informed about all the aspects of their case. She has a wide range of clients in the intellectual property (IP) field and also handles issues related to foreign firms who want IP protection for their U.S. clients. 

Graduating cum laude from the University at Buffalo, Ms. Simpson received her Bachelor of Science degree in business management and accounting. She obtained her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1990. While in law school, she was the recipient of the Robert J. Connelly award for excelling in a trial practice course. After graduating from law school, she clerked for a renowned judge at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. 

Ms. Simpson has memberships in the International Trademark Association, the New York State Bar Association, The Florida Bar, the Bar Association of Erie County and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. She is also a member of the board of directors of the New York State Civil and Criminal Lawyers Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Judiciary Committee and the New York State Supreme Court’s Appellate Division’s Attorney Grievance committee.

Admitted to practice in all New York and Florida state courts, Ms. Simpson is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Southern and Middle Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has received much recognition and accolades for her work in the legal field, including being the recipient of the Distinguished* rating through Martindale-Hubbell and being included in the Who’s Who in Law list by Business First.
