Joshua O. Harper is a North Carolina-based attorney with a focus on workers' compensation and personal injury law. As a member of the Davis Law Group in Asheville, North Carolina, which is a family-run practice, he has dedicated his career to assisting injured workers and car wreck victims. Mr. Harper brings a comprehensive understanding of the law and a steadfast dedication to justice in every case he handles.
Before joining his current firm, Mr. Harper sharpened his legal abilities as a litigation associate at another law firm, initiating his career there following law school. Transitioning to the family firm has enabled him to enhance his skills in representing clients at critical hearings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Harper’s legal skills are further demonstrated through his contributions to significant amicus briefs for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. His involvement in notable cases, such as Sturdivant vs. the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, underscores his commitment to improving the workers' compensation law landscape to better serve injured workers.
In 2023, in acknowledgment of his exemplary service and accumulated experience, Mr. Harper was appointed to the Disciplinary Hearing Commission of the North Carolina State Bar. His educational background is equally notable; he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of The Order of the Coif from Wake Forest Law at Wake Forest University. During his time there, he served as a notes and comments editor for the Wake Forest Law Review. He obtained his undergraduate degree with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was consistently recognized on the dean’s list.
Additionally, Mr. Harper served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2013 before embarking on his legal career. His military service is marked by several commendations, including the prestigious Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.
