For over three decades, personal injury attorney Scott M. Anderson has been providing tenacious legal representation to the injured residents of North Carolina and South Carolina. He is the managing partner at the law firm of Grimes Teich Anderson, LLP, located in Asheville, North Carolina.
Mr. Anderson started his career representing insurance companies and was often the lead counsel in several jury trials and administrative hearings. He also practiced criminal defense, where he handled cases ranging from murder to criminal sexual conduct to driving under the influence. Then, in 1994, he switched sides and started exclusively representing injured people in civil trials and workers' compensation hearings.
After completing his B.A. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986, Mr. Anderson secured his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1989. He is admitted to practice in South Carolina (1989), North Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. District Court of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the Cherokee Supreme Court (Eastern Band), the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
When it comes to giving back, Mr. Anderson focuses his efforts on serving the legal community. He is an active part of the American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Association for Justice, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He has also served as a board member of the South Carolina Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Association and the South Carolina Bar Resolution of Fee Disputes.
