Charles G. Monnett, III, is the founder of Charles G. Monnett III & Associates and has over three decades of experience representing the people of North Carolina in legal matters related to personal injury. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, his reputation is one of tenacity and integrity, both in the courtroom and out.

A member of the North Carolina State Bar, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, The Belli Society, the Pound Civil Justice Institute and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America, Mr. Monnett is widely known for his knowledge of traumatic brain injuries and medical malpractice. For the American Association of Justice, he has served as chair, chair-elect, treasurer and on the executive committee of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group.

At Appalachian State University in 1980, he earned a Bachelor of Arts before moving on to the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he obtained a Juris Doctor in 1983. He is also a member, past president and on the board of governors for the Southern Trial Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Other professional organizations that count Mr. Monnett as a member include the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and the Mecklenburg County Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Monnett was the inaugural recipient of the Randy Evans Advocacy Award from the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina in 1999. Recently, he secured a verdict of $13 million for a child with neurological damage from a missed diagnosis and a $2.25 million settlement for a police shooting death.
