Property rights attorney David W. Murray represents landowners who are facing eminent domain and land condemnation by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), City of Charlotte, Piedmont Natural Gas Company (PNG) and other condemning authorities across North Carolina. He also maintains a zoning litigation practice, assisting clients with zoning variances, appeals, and rezonings. Mr. Murray only represents individuals and businesses, never the government or utility companies.
Mr. Murray is licensed to practice in all the state courts of North Carolina and before the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts with a major in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then graduated magna cum laude with his Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board. He is also a graduate of the 2014 Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership Institute.
He is a former chair of the Eminent Domain Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (twice) and the Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership Institute Committee.
