In 2005, he earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in political science and a minor in history from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before attending law school. He graduated magna cum laude with his Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central University School of Law. While in law school, he was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law and on the Moot Court Board.

    Currently, he is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, and a member of and the present chair of the Bar Leadership Institute Committee of the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation within the Mecklenburg County Bar. Mr. Murray is also a former member of the 26th Judicial Bar Candidates Committee and the Eminent Domain Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

    A passionate, involved member of his community, Mr. Murray is the former chair of the Habitat Young Professionals Charlotte and a former member of the Advisory Council for Habitat for Humanity International. He is also a graduate of the 2014 Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership Institute.
