Erik Ashman

Erik Ashman is an attorney at Olsinski Law Firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he focuses his practice exclusively on family law. He represents clients in complex domestic and family legal matters throughout Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties.

Mr. Ashman handles all types of family law matters, such as those involving divorce, adoption, child custody, child support, domestic violence, equitable distribution, grandparents’ rights, prenuptial agreements, property division, postnuptial agreements and separation agreements. He is a dedicated professional, providing compassionate representation and strong advocacy in the courtroom.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in history, Mr. Ashman went on to obtain his law degree from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina. He gained his initial legal experience while completing his undergraduate studies by serving as an intern with the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office. Following law school, he passed the North Carolina bar examination, which qualified him to appear before all North Carolina state courts.

Early in his legal career, Mr. Ashman concentrated his practice on criminal defense. After a number of cases in which he represented parents in disputes with the Department of Social Services, he developed a passion for family law. He joined a Catawba County law firm and led its family law division for four years. In 2018, he joined Olinski Law and continued focusing his practice on family law.

Outside of serving his clients and managing his family law practice, Mr. Ashman is active in the Mecklenburg County Bar and other professional organizations.
